At Villa Costa Vida, we believe that art can make a house a home. It can light up a room, provoke conversation, and make people feel at ease—and that’s exactly what we want for our guests. Overlooking the rainforest and the Pacific Ocean, our views are one of the main reasons people gravitate toward Villa Costa Vida. It only made sense that we want our interior to be as compelling and beautiful as the nature surrounding us.
When we started looking for art to decorate our villa, we knew that we wanted to allow a local artist to brighten up our walls. From the moment we first laid eyes on the artwork by upcoming artist Greivin A. Salas, we were impressed with the colors, details, and creativity that were put into each of his art pieces.
Inspired by the countryside in San Carlos and the diverse beauty of Costa Rica in general, Greivin’s bold and colorful art celebrates our country’s vibrant nature and fascinating landscapes. You can almost feel the energy of the jungle and hear the call of native animals in his colorful art.
From forests and plants to rivers and animals, Greivin’s work reflects a unique interpretation of his close connection with the natural world he was born into. His subjects include equestrian portraits, farm scenes, abstract and representational portraits of nature, and rural Costa Rica.
For Earth Day 2022, Greivin launched a collection of 18 art pieces titled ‘The Living Colors: A Journey into the Transformation of Costa Rican Rural Landscapes.’ Each piece in the collection has its own story to tell and message to convey.
Greivin has beautifully captured the thick, humid forests of Costa Rica in his paintings; damp-smelling earth, deep shadows, bursts of gorgeous color, and tropical sunlight. But his art is more than pretty or pleasing, it emphasizes the importance of protecting nature and wildlife.
From lush rainforests to pristine beaches and rugged mountains, Costa Rica is famous for its natural beauty and rich biodiversity. Besides its obvious beauty, our country is also well known for its efforts in sustainability and conservation.
At Villa Costa Vida, we feel that our efforts, and those of our guests, help in preserving the environment in which we live, while still offering a sophisticated and luxurious experience for all who stay with us. Greivin’s art inspires and reinvigorates our connection with nature.
“We are excited to showcase the vibrant and eclectic artwork of a local artist and give our guests a taste of what Costa Rica has to offer.” — Rayna J. Levin, Villa Director & Customer Care Specialist
These are some of the pieces that will be exhibited at Villa Costa Vida. All of these pieces were created during the pandemic and post-pandemic period. Greivin used acrylic paint on white, black, and brown canvasses.
As one of the newest and most luxurious large vacation homes in the area, Villa Costa Vida has quickly become a highly sought-after venue for family reunions, group vacations, weddings, and corporate events. The elegant combination of nature and luxury will have you in awe the moment you arrive. You can easily lose yourself in the sights of nature and the sounds of wildlife while you relax in the infinity pool or one of the many social areas. Throughout the day, you will hear monkeys howling, birds singing, and the ocean waves crashing. Villa Costa Vida is a 2.5-3.0 hour drive, or a quick 20-minute flight, from the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO.)
